SUMMER MOVIE BLAST FEST 2008! part 2

Hell, its been over a month since my last post... July... its like the peak month of the summer and its over, classes start this week, (at least here in puerto rico) so that mean pretty much summer is death. But it was a good one, the highlight was the cruise, and some road trips. I did not played that much with my band actually but we gonna start this week. BBQs were kind of cool, yeah I bought a BBQ and did like 2 BBQ nights at the terrace upstairs, one of them was spent playing different video games and drinking lots of chinacoladas.
Now, the thing what I loved about this summmer were the cool movies around, so here is some movies I saw and gonna give you my point of view of them. I am 100% I might be forgetting a movie or two on this list but I will talk about the ones I remember. So here it goes.

Don't Mess With The Zohan!

This moviw was all right, didn't felt like a summer movie at all, but it was a good laugh while it lasted. It had its moments, but it all just falls flats onto its face later on. Its like, they ran out of jokes and the movie lost all the sense of it so they arranged a really random ending. You will laugh with this movie... or at the movie but you will. I just the ending and just that out of nowhere script that ticks me off.

The Incredible Hulk

This was a good super hero movie, better than Iron Man in my opinion, since the character was already developed they focused more on the movie. Still strongly based about the character's life and how he deals with it but has some interesting parts. It felt more like a movie than an Hulk only movie. In shot words I might say it was straight to the point, and the main character did a great job. I like how Marvel is mixing now their movies for an upcoming surprise its really cool how can you see stuff from captain amaerica in iron man and stuff from iron man in Hulk. It was a good summer movie, there wasn't that much of a hype or promotion as other hero movies but it was good. Had fun with this one.

Get Smart

The only reason I wanted to see this movie was because of Steve Carrell, and all I can say is this movie at least is better than his 2 latest movies but not better than 40 year old virgin. The movie is what you might expect when you have a wrestler on it, and this girl from Princess Diaries, I dont really like her but she developed to be a nice looking female ready to be a mom any time soon. The movie was ok, it was funny but not as funny, its ok for a movie filler for a boring night. I think this is a Tie with Zohan, both were ok funny and had action sequences and all. No reason to be a summer movie. Again they ran out of ideas and they decided to end the movie on a random way.

XXY

Not a summer movie, felt like a september or november movie.. or even april or march.. maybe february. But not summer. This movie was an idea of my girlfriend to see it. It wasnt bad, its not bad, its jsut fucked up. The story of a hermaphrodite. I did a song called HERMAFRODITA back when I was like in 9th grade or something. The movie its a little strong sometimes, its ok as a rental not as a theater showcase.... its a little um fucked up. But it is good I recommended if you are into FINE ARTS pieces of goat shit. Lets move on.

WALL-E

Loved this movie, it had nice characters but contrary to other Pizar movies some characters didnt had that much time to develop but later on they pushed you their personalities. They are not as memorable. I think the only character that is really memorable and was only for couple minutes on screen and neve actually raelly talked was Bobba Fett from Star Wars, he is one of the most memorable characters from the saga and he dies kind of fast. Anyways in this movie it felt like those characters were grasping for recognition near the end of the movie, and you will be like.. ok who the fuck are you and why you are so special now. BUt Wall-E is a great movie the character of Wall-E it really felt alive, I give 2 thumbs way up for that. NIce job pixar. The movie wont be that great for kids... I mean is not htat is bad for kids.. but it wont have that impact as other pixar movies had. I recommend this movie, its good and yes felt like a good old summer movie.

The Dark Knight

Its a really good movie, but I would've enjoyed even more if it wasn't because of assholes crowd in the theaters to see "blah blah balh Batman blah blah blah The JOker blah blah blah I like the Joker blah blah blah my daddy rapes me at night blah blah balh". Fucks. Its stupid, the movie was full couple times I even thought about going, and when I finally went I missed the first 10 minutes or so... so the experience wasn't the best. But about the movie itself, yeah it was a really good movie, not perfect, but really good. The Joker in all honesty could have been better, is not waht I expected maybe because of the hype stupid people gave him, but the actor indeed did a great work it was a really disturbed character and I liked it jsut didnt felt 100% the joker there. But in a point of view I know the "new" Batman revisions are more Movies than a batman movie so it makes sense to make him a psysho who paints his disfigured face as a clown. Overall its a great summer movie, it was like the grand finale of hte summer movies for me... its the last one I went to see. And probably gonna see it again this week hopefully without a packed room. Before I forget want thing I like about the movie is that Bruce continues to be a dick and dissing people up, and as a Batman he is showcased more like an anti-hero instead of a hero. Can't imagine what they will do on a third movie, is a RObin going to come out? Hope not, but seriously waht they could come up with... The Penguin? Riddler? Its funny because most of them are psychos. I recommend this movie. As a last fun fact, Batman comics been around for decades, and now they are starting to sell again, kids are sending their parents asking for "I want a comic of Batman", they dont even care just give me wahtever piece of paper tha has Batman printed on it. IN a way its good, but if you go to Borders you see comics falling on the floor being ignored... a movie has to come out for posers start reading comics.. and pretend to like them. Oh well.

Overall this summer was a great one, I missed couple movies I wanted to see like Narnia just because I saw the first one, The Love Guru just because Mike Myers stupidity, and Journey to the Center of the Earth.. looked good if I was like 17 years younger, and still need to see HELLBOY 2, THE MUMMY 3 and um I htink thats it on the current list. But other movies are Death Race and I dont know what else. But that aint summer time movies. We will see what happens next year. See ya.
